Our innovative solutions to the climate crisis have seen Saint John Energy emerge as a national utility leader in the transition to net zero.
Energy-harvesting tiles exemplify a novel method for sustainable energy production, with ongoing research and development in several variants, including solar tiles and thermoelectric generator (TGA) tiles.
The average reflectance of 0.8 is slightly below the optimum, indicating that the tiles can reflect a significant amount of solar energy, but there is still space for improvement. Solar absorptance, a complementary measure to reflectance, quantifies the amount of solar energy absorbed.
A seamless installation and effective energy harvesting are guaranteed by the tiles' average flatness of 0.76 mm, which indicates their high-quality manufacturing. Fig. 7 illustrates these test results, corroborating that the tiles meet industry standards and are appropriate for environments prioritising energy efficiency and structural integrity.
